Note-taking and recording of minutes or statements
Directive 2009/38/CE of the EU Council states that businesses and groups of businesses in the EU must establish a European Works Council (EWC) in order to inform and consult their employees. This committee is called upon to meet regularly and an impartial third party must record the minutes (or write a report) containing the main events and decisions adopted by the parties present, at the end of each meeting.
We are regularly commissioned by businesses across Europe to take notes and record minutes in French or in English, both within the EU territory and in Switzerland.
Our main clients for the note-taking service are various pharmaceutical firms, a French giant in the manufacturing and distribution of construction materials, a multinational company specialising in paper and cardboard manufacturing, a chemical company, several large IT manufacturers, and a European association of dentistry and stomatology.
Among assignments completed by our note-takers and editors, we cite the support of American lawyers during a confidential investigation into a large electrical appliance manufacturer.
As another example, we can also cite the provision of secretarial services during world events such as the summit of the International Organisation of La Francophonie or Uruguay's trade round in the GATT.
